The number of bands needed is determined by the amount of resistance you want to achieve. You can easily place up to 3 bands on either side of the bar for exercises such as dead lifts and squats to increase the resistance. Each set of bands adds up to 40 lbs of resistance. If you’re already working out consistently, we recommend starting with our extra band package. You can always come back and purchase an extra set of bands when your strength level increases from workout out.
To adjust the resistance when using your portable home gym, you can loop the bands through the anchor points on the base. By looping bands, you can shorten the bands creating more tension and resistance in each rep. The bands can be shortened as far as in half with this method. You can also add additional bands to create more resistance with each exercise. In order to lessen resistance, keep your bands clipped to one anchor point, without any weaving, or add in an additional band to lengthen.
